Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) users are people and organisations who require mission critical reliable communication in order to safely and efficiently undertake their daily work. Typical users can range from homeland security agencies such as police, ambulance and fire departments to commercial concerns such as airports, ports and railways. Worldwide, excluding military applications, there are over 40 million PMR users, all of whom rely upon communications to carry out their job and for their own personal safety.

As with all communication technologies, PMR users are now demanding levels of functionality best delivered by digital systems and are, therefore, migrating from analogue to digital systems. A number of global digital PMR technology standards have been created by international agencies such as ETSI, around which products can be developed to meet this demand from PMR users around the world.

TETRA and P25 are the world’s two leading digital PMR standards: P25 is mostly used in North America and TETRA in over 85 other countries worldwide, including all of Europe. Other simpler digital radio standards, such as DMR, exist to provide lower cost radios but with a limited range of digital features.

SRT PMR Technology provides a range of digital PMR technologies that enable our customers to quickly, cost effectively and with minimal development risk, create and manufacture their own unique product for their specific target markets.
